A/S Custom Furniture is committed to manufacturing in a manner that minimizes any detrimental impacts on our environment. We make a continuous effort to minimize waste, integrate materials from sustainable sources, and promote a healthy workplace and community. Environmental stewardship is not a trendy fad to us; it is an honest commitment…and more importantly, it is our duty to those that will follow us.
- We source particleboard and mdf from EPP CPA Certified Mills. All engineered board products are CARB Phase 1 compliant to promote indoor air quality & derived from 100% recycled and/or recovered fiber.
- We utilize the latest in optimization software to maximize board yields & minimize waste. Surplus material is donated to local technical schools for educational purposes or converted into finished case goods for community based initiatives.
- All decorative laminates we use are Greenguard certified
- We are helping to pioneer the use of light-weight structural panels. The cores are constructed from 100% post-consumer recycled waste. Their usage minimizes energy costs along the supply chain and the cores are VOC free.
- Our laminating lines utilize only PVAC water-based adhesives.
- The vast majority of finished goods are shipped blanket-wrapped to minimize wasteful packaging materials.
- In house finishing is done with water-based coatings.
- Our manufacturing facility is located in close proximity to regional rail and bus lines to provide our employees easy access to public transportation.
- We have been awarded our FSC C.O.C. certification to help promote responsible & sustainable forestry practices.
